The Ethereum Merge, a landmark upgrade to the Ethereum blockchain, was one of the most anticipated and anxiety-inducing events in the crypto industry. With widespread speculation, misinformation, and technical complexity surrounding the update, Unstoppable Domains needed a clear, credible resource that could educate customers, partners, and employees alike on what the Merge actually was, why it mattered, what it meant for the future of Ethereum, and how it would affect ETH economics — all without requiring a technical background to understand it.
What I did
I led the research and scriptwriting for an external-facing explainer video produced in collaboration with our in-house podcaster. I dug deep into primary sources, including official upgrade documentation and announcements from the Ethereum Foundation, reputable industry expert commentary, and official diagrams that our video editor could incorporate as visuals, to build a comprehensive understanding of the Merge before distilling it into an approachable, jargon-light ten-minute script. The goal was to make a highly technical blockchain event feel understandable and relevant for a non-technical audience without sacrificing accuracy. Alongside the video, I created a supplementary internal one-pager for GTM teams, drawing on resources from established companies in the blockchain space to help customer-facing employees speak confidently about what the Merge meant for Unstoppable Domains and its partners.
Impact
The video became a trusted educational source of truth for customers, YouTube subscribers, and employees navigating one of the most talked-about moments in Ethereum's history. Beyond educating viewers on the facts, it actively addressed and dispelled the fears and rumors circulating about how the Merge might affect Unstoppable Domains' product and its customers, giving both internal teams and external audiences the confidence and clarity to move forward without uncertainty.
